KnCMiner “Titan” 100 Mh/s Scrypt miner announced for pre-order – The end of all scrypt Gpu Miners ?

March 20, 2014 | Posted in Cryptocurrency mining | By

KnCMiner’s “Titan” first scrypt mining hardware is announced  for pre-order and will be shipping in Q2/Q3 of 2014

It is promised to do at least a minimum of 100 Mh/s , yes you didn’t misread , a whoopin’ 100 MH/S!

The price for this monster is $ 9,995.00.  That’s roughly 100 $ for 1 MH/s.

Consider this: a brand new out of the box R9 290x Tri-X OC does around 1 MH/s (at about 400W) aswell but does cost around 750 $

According to KnCMiner it will run with a standard ATX power supply the customer has to get for themself. Power consumption shouldn’t be a very big issue.

There is no information on how many Titans will be in the first batch of production and shipping, as of yet. The impact on the scrypt mining allover net hashrates should be very noticeable once they first batch is delivered.

Will this mean certain death for all small scale Gpu Miners or even contracted Gpu Rig Mining ?
